The company Uber decided to radically fight traffic jams: it is going to start shipping customers by air, rather than on the road. The devices developed by the company for passenger transportation will be able to take off and land vertically. Uber said that it will begin testing such “flying cars” for the next three years. Tests will be held in Dallas and Dubai and should lead to the emergence of aerotaksi already in 2023.
The Uber aircraft will be able to travel at speeds up to 240 kilometers per hour and overcome significant distances on one charge at a cost of $ 1.32 per kilometer, which is comparable to the rates for UberX in the US.
It is clear that ordinary cars will not go anywhere in the near future – the number of them will only grow, and cities will always have problems with congested roads and a long time on the road. Therefore, many companies are looking for other options for moving passengers, this is aimed at the services of card-sharing, joint trips on one car, and, now, air taxi.
