In Alaska, found large reserves of oil

A little-known energy company, Caelus Energy, supported by the Fund Apollo Global Management, announced that it has discovered large oil reserves in Alaska.

The company announced the discovery of oil reserves in 480 km from the Arctic circle. In Caelus Energy expect to get on the field at 1.8–2.4 billion barrels of oil.

It clarifies the issue, if these calculations are correct, a new field is bigger than Exxon Mobil open field of hydrocarbons off the coast of Guyana in South America.

“It will be difficult, but we have similar projects around the world”, — the newspaper quotes words of the head of Caelus Energy James Musselman.

The company said it plans to build 200-km undersea pipeline with worth $800 million, which will transport the extracted oil. It is expected that the government will support the project in the face of declining oil production in the region. However, according to the journalists, the construction of the pipeline may cause protests from environmental activists.
