Reasonable use of mayonnaise does not harm the body, but rather has a positive effect. This statement was made by Ekaterina Burlyaeva, candidate of medical sciences, general practitioner, nutritionist, Federal State Budgetary Institution of Nutrition and Biotechnology.
The expert notes that mayonnaise contains vegetable oil and vitamin E, which normalize blood cholesterol and have antioxidant effects. In addition, she said, vitamin E is important for the elasticity of the skin, beautiful nails and hair.
The specialist also noted that there is not much difference between homemade and purchased mayonnaise. On the contrary, industrial contains even more vitamins.
However, the doctor recalls that mayonnaise is a sauce, not a main dish, so you should not get carried away with it. This product must be correctly integrated into the general concept of the diet, which implies a certain caloric content of the daily diet and a certain ratio of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. But definitely mayonnaise is not recommended for people with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
