Scientists in the United States have determined that the coronavirus is primarily transmitted through aerosols in the air and not through surfaces. This is stated in an article in the journal Annals of Internal Medicine.
“The evidence presented in case reports (of coronavirus disease) as well as cluster reports demonstrates that respiratory transmission is dominant, and proximity to infected people and poor ventilation are key factors in transmission,” the article says.
It is noted that most of the particles of coronavirus are observed in those infected the day before the first symptoms appear. Then, within a week, their number gradually decreases.
Scientists conclude that the most dangerous in terms of infectiousness are people in whom the disease is at an early stage.
