Minnesota farmer Travis Ginger has grown a 1066 kg pumpkin in his garden.
For his achievement, he received 16.5 thousand dollars. This is the award to the winner of the “Super Bowl of the Pumpkin”, which takes place annually in northern California.
To bring the pumpkin to the competition safe and sound, Ginger wrapped it in wet blankets and tarps and poured water over it at every stop. The journey took him 35 hours.
The world record belongs to a pumpkin weighing 1190 kg, which was grown by a farmer from Belgium in 2016.
