“Blue light of gadgets, or the so-called HEV-radiation, has a number of disadvantages that negatively affect the body. Blue light has a bad effect on the retina, causing photochemical reactions in it that destroy photoreceptors and cells of the retinal pigment epithelium (these processes are irreversible) “, – the doctor explains.
In addition, HEV radiation leads to premature aging of the skin and provokes age spots. Blue light reduces the production of the sleep hormone melatonin and induces insomnia. Dry eye syndrome, retinal dystrophy may develop, eyes will start to fatigue and vision may fall, she added.
Partly protection against blue light can be special computer glasses with a yellow filter that absorbs it. But it is best to use gadgets during the day, taking your eyes off the monitor every hour. 2-3 hours before bedtime, you should completely abandon any devices.
“Try not to use gadgets at night, so as not to disrupt the biological rhythms of the body. Reduce the time spent on social networks,” concluded Adamyan.
