UAV VA001, created by the American company Vanilla Aircraft, set a new record for devices lighter than 500 kg. The drone, equipped with an internal combustion engine, was able to fly without landing 121 hours and 24 minutes.
The device landed at the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia on 23 October.
The VA001 has a wing span of 11 meters. Theoretically, the device can be in the air for 10 days.
In the course of the last test, the unmanned aircraft overcame 11 thousand km, flying in a circle. The device is designed for flights at an altitude of up to 4.5 km. The maximum speed of Vanilla VA001 is 140 km / h. The cruising speed is 100 km / h.
The device can be used both for military and civil purposes.
