A geomagnetic storm is raging on Earth

As expected, a coronal solar ejection hit the Earth’s magnetic field on May 26. It was not fast, but it was dense, doubling the density of the solar wind in its wake.

The strike eventually caused a Kr5 geomagnetic storm, and today, May 27, another ejection approached, causing geomagnetic disturbances reaching Kr4 levels at this time.
