A strong geomagnetic storm has begun on Earth

The solar wind flux hit the Earth’s magnetic field late in the evening of September 27, causing a Kr6-class geomagnetic storm a full day earlier than expected.

Today, the level of geomagnetic disturbances ranges from Kr5 to Kr6, and a geomagnetic storm is likely to intensify, since the solar wind continues to blow at a speed of over 600 km / s.

Auroras can be seen in the northern states of the United States such as Michigan and Montana.
