This cosmic body was found two months ago and obtained a serial number 216WF9. This object with a diameter up to 1 kilometer will fly at a distance of 50 million kilometers from the planet on February 25th 2017.
Although much time has passed since the discovery of the object, scientists have not been able to classify this cosmic body yet. They don’t know for sure either it is a comet or an asteroid.
According to the astronomers the classification of the object 216WF9 prevents the fact that it is completely dark, does not reflect light and has the surrounding clouds of gas and dust.
It should be noted that in the case if the trajectory of the object by 25 February will not change, it will not pose any danger to Earth. The distance from Earth to the Moon is 384,400 km, and this space object will pass at a distance of 50 million kilometers from our planet.
