Presented below is an image of one region of the dwarf planet Ceres in false colors in order so we can more to consider this region. This image shows a crater Arnott (Ernutet crater).
Bright-red pieces seem more red relative to the rest of Ceres. In 2017 in the journal Science, the scientists published the results of his research. They believe that these red areas around the crater Arnott associated with the presence of organic material.
The above image of the crater taken with different spectral filters were combined to create a single composite image.
At the moment scientists of the mission “Dawn” trying to understand what organic material was found in images around the crater on Ceres.
The diameter of the crater Arnott is approximately 52 kilometers. It is located in the Northern hemisphere.
