The hole in the form of a canyon opened in the Sun’s atmosphere and is spewing solar wind into space. The solar dynamics Observatory NASA captured the structure, which stretches for more than 700 thousand kilometers.
Such canyons are called ” coronal holes, places in the solar atmosphere, where magnetic fields allow to flow to the hot gas. The gas stream of solar wind flowing from the current coronal hole will reach Earth on July 8-9. Perhaps, there will be a geomagnetic storm when it arrives. In the southern hemisphere may appear bright auroras.
