July 22, a huge asteroid will fly past Earth

On Saturday, July 22, an asteroid will pass by the Earth – and quite close (by astronomical measures). The distance on which the celestial body will pass from our planet is 8.7 million km. The official name of the facility is 2017 MV1, the diameter is 1.1 thousand meters, the speed of the flight at the moment of closest approach to the Earth is 86,580 km / h.

Although the asteroid 2017 МВ1 is considered a potentially dangerous celestial body, scientists are sure that it poses no threat to earthlings.

If ever an asteroid with a diameter of only 1 km really collides with the Earth, the catastrophe can not escape. The impact of a space boulder on the surface of the planet will provoke fiery storms, giant waves and tremors.
