Potentially dangerous asteroid 2016 JG12 will fly close to Earth on November 20. This is reported by the NASA Center for the Study of Near-Earth Objects.
The message says that the space object will fly near the planet at a distance of 5.5 million kilometers. The asteroid’s speed is 7.48 kilometers per second.
It is noted that the size of 2016 JG12 ranges from 83 to 190 meters. According to the British edition of the Daily Star, the size of the celestial body exceeds the size of the London Eye.
The space object was first discovered on May 3, 2016. NASA believes that the asteroid will fly close to Earth several times over the next decades. However, in the future, it will no longer be as close to the planet as in November 2021.
