The American space department considers that in long space flights it is necessary to deal with the problem of protection against radiation by means of biological means.
At the conference on space biology and medicine which is taking place in the Russian capital the representative of NASA William Paloski has reported that for protection of crew of long-term space expeditions against space radiation it isn’t enough to use only constructive decisions, biological means are required.
“The problem of radiation isn’t solved by a covering or shielding. More biological means of protection are necessary”, – the employee of NASA has noted.
The American experts have come to such conclusion, working on the program for flight of the Moon within 21 days in 2020.
Earlier many domestic and foreign scientists expressed fears about a possibility of long-term space flights without use of new ways of protection against radiation.
