Recent solar flares were directed toward Earth

Yesterday, May 22, sunspot AR2824 caused a series of solar flares. In just 24 hours, 10 C flares and two M flares were detected. According to the latest data, a combined blow to the Earth’s magnetic field will strike late in the evening on May 25, which could cause geomagnetic storms.

The strength of the geomagnetic storm will depend on how well our magnetic field is able to contain the shock.
