The fall and explosion of a large meteorite observed by residents of Texas in the United States

On Sunday night, residents of North Texas discussed on social media and shared videos of a meteorite falling and exploding.

Many Dallas and Fort Worth residents noted seeing a bright fireball around 8:57 p.m. Sunday. It was seen as far south as Austin, as far north as Oklahoma and as far east as Louisiana.

It swept from southwest to northeast and exploded apparently over northeast Texas. One Bonham resident said that “his house shook.
