The fall of a meteorite recorded over Spain

This bright meteor flew over southern Spain on September 25, 2020 at approximately 9:52 pm. It was formed by a rock (meteoroid) from an asteroid that hit the atmosphere at a speed of about 39,000 km / h.

It began at an altitude of about 80 km above Seville and ended at an altitude of about 26 km above Cordova.

The event was recorded as part of the SMART project, which is implemented by the Southwest Europe Meteor Network (SWEMN).

This event was recorded by meteorological stations located in Seville, La Sagra (Granada), La Jita (Toledo), Sierra Nevada (Granada) and Calar Alto.
