The fall of a meteorite was observed in the south of Spain

A beautiful green meteorite flew over southern Spain on September 3, 2020 at approximately 2:35 am local time.

According to astronomers, it entered the atmosphere at a speed of about 97,000 km / h. The bright glow began at an altitude of about 80 km above the Gulf of Cadiz (Atlantic Ocean) and ended at an altitude of about 44 km above sea level.

The event was recorded as part of the SMART project, which is implemented by the Southwest Europe Meteor Network (SWEMN). The event was recorded by meteorological stations located in Seville, La Sagra (Granada), La Jita (Toledo) and Calar Alto.
