The light and shadows from East to West

This November morning the old Crescent moon and the morning star ascended shortly before the Sun. The picture depicted a panorama of the sky from Amboseli National Park in Kenya.

The sun is still below the Eastern horizon and the silhouettes of the Acacias, but his position is easy to find. It is marked on the left converging in the twilight sky with bands of light and shadow.

Painted in warm shades rays of sunlight known as crepuscular rays burst through the shadows cast by unseen clouds near the horizon. The rays of light and shadow curve over the profile of mount Kilimanjaro and converge on the Western horizon.

This phenomenon is called protivoallergennye rays, they mark the point opposite the rising Sun. Cloud shadows are almost parallel, they converge at the distant horizon due to the perspective effect.
