Astronomers carefully studying the nucleus of comet C / 2019 Y4, see two almost identical fragments rushing towards the Sun. Jose de Keyros and Michael Dyerler took this photo April 15 from the Mirasteylas Public Observatory in Switzerland.
We used the 90-cm remote-controlled observatory telescope with the SBIG STL-11000 camera, “explains Dyerler.
We have been observing the comet with this large public telescope since the beginning of April.
Their images show the start of the ATLAS decay on April 1, followed by an increase in fragmentation on April 11, 14, and 15.
